The development of capability and expertise in the machining and processing of critical parts for the Optics Industry started in in 1998 with Thuro’s selection to supply critical machined components for a world-renowned designer of Rifle Scopes used by the Sportsperson. Shortly thereafter Thuro diversified into providing components used by manufacturers and spare parts suppliers of Military Night Vision Systems.

In the past two years Thuro has expanded the Markets Served for Lighting & Optics. Building upon 15 years of experience in Machining critical components for Interior Aircraft Lighting Systems as well as critical Night Vision Components Thuro has recently started serving the needs of designers and builders of critical machined parts used in Vision Enhancement Systems. These systems are used by Medical Professionals worldwide. Our growth in the production of parts for Medical Applications was a natural progression.

Thuro was also approached in 2012 by a well-known Designer and Assembler of high end, modular lighting. For the past three years Thuro has helped this company grow their business and has expanded production for this segment.

Over the past 18 years we have developed a full turn-key capability to perform all the precision machining, pre-plate surface preparation and finishing of metal surfaced, as well as assembly and packaging. Our latest offering is the lending our expertise in material selection, tolerancing, finishing and packaging. Our customers are tapping our capability in part modeling and process design as they develop and design mechanical components for tomorrow’s instruments. Our clients are also seeing a dramatic decrease in the time it takes their products to come to life as their experience and ours is melded with the latest metal cutting technology.
